I have been a car nut since age 4. My entire adult life has been spent around automobiles; accordingly, I have a great respect for them and all the things they mean to their owners. Automobiles get us to work, get our kids to school, keep us safe, give us independence, and make us happy. They are the second largest purchase most of us ever make, and if they fail us, the costs can be high in dollars, time, and stress. In short, our cars are very important to us.
After 28 years in the automobile dealership business, the last 11 serving as the Managing Partner at Nissan, Volkswagen, & Mercedes-Benz of Athens, we sold the dealership in September of 2011. I bought out my business partner’s interest in our collision center and renamed it Georgia Square Collision, after the Georgia Square Auto Center dealership we had owned that started the collision center in 1992. The retail automobile business has changed greatly in the last few years, and in many cases honest, fair, and transparent high quality customer service seem to be a thing of the past. It was my belief that in the collision repair business we could present a value proposition to our customers that stresses traditional benefits like pride in work quality, integrity in our dealings with customers and employees alike, fair value for money spent, and responsible community citizenship. These are things I want as a customer, and want to provide to others as a business owner.
I am blessed to have been married to my wonderful wife Vera for the last 26 years and we have 2 adult sons and an appallingly spoiled cat. We have lived in Athens since 2000. We’re big music lovers and foodies, so Athens’ great dining options and music scene are incredible benefits. It’s hard to imagine living anywhere else besides the Classic City!
