No one knows how to properly repair your vehicle better than the company that makes it. Automobile manufacturers seek out collision repair centers willing to invest in the training, equipment, and repair processes necessary to ensure that their collision repair work meets the maker’s exacting standards. Body shops that make and maintain this commitment are recognized by auto manufacturers as Factory Certified Collision Centers.
Outlined below are just some of the investments we make in training and equipment to maintain our Factory Certification as an Athens Collision Center.
In order to be recognized by new car manufacturers as a Factory Certified Collision Center, a body shop must attain and keep the I-CAR Gold Class Professionals designation. This designation recognizes that the body shop has trained its team to a high level of proficiency in each of the four areas of collision repair processes: structural repair, non-structural repair, paint refinishing and estimating.
In order for a collision center to achieve the Gold Class Professionals designation, at least one team member must have attained the highest level of personal recognition, I-CAR Platinum Certification, in each discipline. Both individual Platinum Certification and team Gold Class Certification must be renewed annually, and new training is required as new materials and equipment are introduced to the collision repair industry.
We are a Factory Certified Athens collision center. At Georgia Square Collision, we are not satisfied with meeting the minimum to receive our certification. On top of being Gold Class Certified, each and every one of our body repair technicians is I-CAR Platinum Certified! We believe that every customer deserves the best quality body repair work available, not just the customer who gets the one fully-trained technician by chance. As automobiles continue to be made with new technology and new materials, you can be confident that our team will have the training to properly repair it.
Beyond training, Factory Certification requires that collision centers have the tools and equipment necessary to properly return your vehicle to its pre-accident condition using the same techniques and precision that were used to build it.
Unlike most body shops, Georgia Square Collision has invested in the three-dimensional frame measuring systems, resistance spot welders, high-end paint booths, and other equipment necessary to meet the auto manufacturers’ requirements for repair quality, fit, and finish.
In many cases, the Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) quality structural repair work we perform will not be visible to the naked eye, but your car will drive better and be safer because of the tools and equipment that we use. As new materials are introduced into the industry, we will continue to invest in the equipment to properly repair them.
Not everyone who claims to be factory certified really is. Because getting and maintaining Factory Certified Collision Center status is difficult and costly, many body shops do not make the investments in training and equipment that are necessary to keep certified status from year to year. These shops often continue to advertise certified status even if they no longer qualify.
Before you decide which Athens collision center to use to repair your vehicle, ask to see documentation verifying that the shop is currently Factory Certified. At Georgia Square Collision, our certifications, including expiration dates, are visible to our customers as soon as they walk in the door!
No matter what brand of car, truck, or SUV you own, you can bring it to Georgia Square Collision with the knowledge that our highly skilled team will use the state-of-the-art tools and rigorous repair processes necessary to truly return your car to its pre-accident condition, backed by our Limited Lifetime Warranty.
